Brand
films.

Your brand has a story. Give it a visual expression.

Brand films that give people a sense of who you are. Through people, places and movement, we find a visual expression that belongs to your brand.

I’m Mark Halding. I develop and produce films for brands and businesses, with direct contact from the first conversation to the finished film. We plan the story, shoot and versions around where the film will be seen.

The story behind your brand.

From brand character to images, sound and rhythm.

What is a brand film?

A brand film brings a brand’s identity into a visual story. It can show the people, surroundings and energy that make a business recognisable. The key question is what someone should understand or feel about your brand when the film ends.

You do not need to tell the entire company story. A carefully chosen moment can say more: an athlete at work, hands around a product, or an encounter between people. We choose details that communicate something specific about your brand and give them space through images, sound and rhythm.

Where a commercial film often starts with a campaign, a product or a particular action, a brand film starts with the character of the brand. They can complement each other. We establish the purpose first, so the story serves the brief you actually have.

A visual direction grounded in your world

A visual expression needs something real behind it. The work begins with your people, values, products and surroundings. What makes you distinctive? Which situations can show it? And which images would still feel like your brand with the logo removed?

The productions above show different approaches to sport, people and movement. The New Balance case offers a closer look at an existing project. These examples help us discuss style, rather than providing a template to repeat for every brand.

I’m Mark Halding, your direct production contact. If your marketing team or agency has already developed an idea, we can work from that starting point. When a project needs additional specialists, the crew is assembled around the production’s requirements. Responsibilities and deliverables are agreed before the shoot.

From the first brief to the finished film

First, we clarify the audience, story and intended use. Existing brand material, visual references and an indication of budget and timing help define the project. We establish a direction and decide which people, environments and scenes can carry the film. This is also where we consider interviews, voice-over or a story led by images.

The shoot is then planned around locations, contributors and practical requirements. Light, composition, movement and sound need to work together. If photography is part of the same production, we build it into the plan so that moving images and stills share a coherent visual direction.

Editing shapes the story through cuts, sound and colour. We agree how the film will be reviewed and how feedback and changes will be handled. Music, contributors and usage rights are clarified as part of the project. The agreed versions are delivered when the film is ready. Read about film production for a wider view of the work.

A main film with considered supporting versions

A brand film can live on your website, appear in a presentation or support your communication on social media. We discuss placement early because it affects length, aspect ratio, sound and the opening of the story. A website visitor and someone scrolling through a social feed encounter the film in different circumstances.

Short edits, vertical versions and subtitles can be planned alongside the main film. These are specific deliverables agreed within the project. A shorter edit may need its own opening and ending, rather than simply being an extract from the longer film.

If you need a wider library of films and photographs, we can plan content production. I also work with business photography and websites. This makes it possible to consider the visual setting in which your audience will encounter the brand film, from the first image to the page it sits on.

Questions about brand film production

Do we need a finished script?

No. You can bring a developed idea or a need to find the story. Tell me about the business, the audience and where the film will be used. The first conversation helps us establish direction and scope.

How long should a brand film be?

Length follows the story and its intended use. We agree the main film’s duration and any shorter versions from the brief. A focused film gives its most useful images time without repeating the message.

Can we combine film and photography?

Yes. Both can be planned within the same project. We agree the subjects, time and deliverables so that photography has its place in the shooting schedule and supports the visual direction.

How are scope and cost established?

The idea, shooting days, locations, crew, contributors and required versions shape the production. Send a short outline and the intended channels. We can then clarify the requirements and prepare a proposal for your project.

Where is Halding Studio based?

I’m based in Hørsholm, Denmark, and work on productions in Copenhagen and elsewhere by agreement. Locations and travel are planned around the story and the practical requirements of the film.
